We have all looked at them with our mouths open as a child. Why do cabin crew members attract so much attention? In addition to their professionalism and roles in the plane, their uniform certainly contributes to this. Air France
The cabin crew uniforms of Air France exhibit typical French style and has been well regarded in the airline fashion scene for years. These stylish uniforms have been designed by well known French designer, Christian Lacroix since the early 2000s.
Hainan Airlines
Hainan Airlines, one of the largest airlines in China, proves that a cabin crew can be super elegant. The clothing uses traditional Chinese elements, the outer jacket looks like the uniforms of the Beauxbatons Academy in Harry Potter. Chic and beautiful!
Emirates
The recognisable hats of the Emirates female cabin crew members are particularly stylish and respectful of the culture of Emirates' home base, the United Arab Emirates. The white veil on the side of the hat has 7 folds, which represent the 7 Emirates in the UAE.
Oman Air
New Oman Air uniforms were shown for the first time in June 2019 and have been slowly put into use on all routes. The uniforms are turquoise (after the colour of the Sea of Oman), with the men and the purser wearing a darker shade.
Qatar Airways
Of all the aviation uniforms in the world, the female cabin crew jackets from Qatar Airways with its open collar, gold buttons and blue wool lining is perhaps the most famous.
Turkish Airlines
Turkish Airlines has in honour of her 85th birthday and the opening of the new Istanbul Airport created a new uniform. The design features traditional patterns found in artisan Turkish glassware, ceramics and calligraphy with a red and anthracite grey colour scheme and includes holdings, gloves, dresses, bags and accessories.
Vueling
Vueling wants to exude friendliness and elegance with its modern and stylish look. With the black, white grey and yellow colours, the outfits are classic and timeless.
Virgin Atlantic
Since March 2019, Virgin Atlantic no longer requires their female cabin crew members to wear make-up. They also now offer pants that were previously a no go. With this, they want to promote equality between all genders.
China Airlines
The beautiful China Airlines uniform was designed by William Chang, winner of 11 Golden Horse Awards(the Chinese language cinema equivalent of the Oscars) for Best Costume. The uniform consists of a mix of traditional and contemporary elements that is stylish and classic at the same time. The design includes blue decorative lines and sapphire-coloured shoes that refer to the corporate colours of China Airlines. They complement the overall uniform and provide a consistent and high-quality look.
Etihad
For the first time in Etihad Airways' 16-year history, the airline revised its legacy cabin crew dress code and began allowing female cabin crew members to wear pants. Another big change is that since early 2019 the male cabin crew have been allowed to grow their beards and no longer have to shave it all off.
Hawaiian airlines
Hawaiian Airlines uniforms are one of the few that are cheerful and playful. According to Hawaiian Airlines, the print on the uniforms is bamboo stamps and lehua blossoms.
Garuda Indonesia
Garuda Indonesia has presented a new uniform: Puspa Nusantara. For this, they engaged the designer Didiet Maulana of the exclusive Indonesian fashion brand IKAT to design the uniform. Puspa Nusantara means flower of the archipelago. The uniform is made of tenun textile, this is a form of weaving that is often used by the locals of Bali, among others.
